About This Place

Nestled in the heart of Lawrence Township, Meatheadz Cheesesteaks delivers an authentic American dining experience that pays homage to a true culinary icon—the cheesesteak. Specializing in hearty, flavor-packed sandwiches, this spot is a haven for locals and travelers craving the rich, savory taste of classic Philly-style cheesesteaks crafted with care and quality ingredients.

Meatheadz Cheesesteaks masters the art of the ribeye and cheese on a perfectly baked roll, like the iconic CHEESESTEAK or the indulgent DOUBLE CHEESESTEAK that promises layers of tender, juicy meat and melted cheese that each bite unfolds into a symphony of taste. For those who prefer poultry, the CHICKEN CHEESESTEAK and PLAIN CHICKEN sandwiches offer a lighter yet equally satisfying alternative. The menu bursts with inventive twists such as the MEATHEADZ LOADED STEAK, which packs ribeye, bacon, fries, and cheese all smothered in their signature Meatheadz sauce—it's comfort food elevated to an art form.

The sides deserve a special mention, too. Imagine sinking your teeth into crispy, golden Onion Rings or savoring the gooey, decadent CHEESESTEAK FRIES—an innovative take that layers thinly sliced ribeye and Cooper® Sharp cheese over a generous portion of fries, offering all the flavor with none of the bread. The BUFFALO LOADED FRIES and BACON RANCH FRIES add a tangy, spicy punch that balances perfectly with the rich main dishes.

Diners at Meatheadz can round out their meal with classic American comfort beverages like the creamy, indulgent Strawberry Milkshake with Oreos or a choice from Hank’s Gourmet Beverages—premium Philadelphia sodas crafted with cane sugar that bring a sweet, nostalgic fizz to the table.

From the moment your order is placed, the pace is swift and efficient, delivering satisfying portions that often serve as two meals in one. Customers like Jakub Kowal praise the generosity of the sandwiches, noting that the freshness and abundance of ingredients kept him pleasantly full longer than he expected. The tender, melt-in-your-mouth beef is consistently lauded, with ToM Foolery citing “the most tender beef I ever had in a Cheesesteak,” and Mike Mc, a longtime Philly resident, insisting that Meatheadz nails the essential element—a quality seeded Sarcone's roll that transforms the whole experience.

The atmosphere at Meatheadz Cheesesteaks is casual and unpretentious, echoing the classic diner vibe where the focus is truly on the flavors and satisfaction of every bite. While Michael mentions that the interior is modest and the restroom facilities could use improvement, the welcoming staff and genuine passion for serving top-notch cheesesteaks shine through, creating an inviting space to enjoy a truly quintessential New Jersey culinary staple.

Whether you're a cheesesteak connoisseur or trying this beloved sandwich for the first time, Meatheadz Cheesesteaks stands as a beacon of quality and tradition in the NJ dining scene. Packaged in bold flavors, hearty portions, and complemented by inventive side dishes, this spot promises a memorable, deeply satisfying meal that keeps guests coming back for more.

One of the best cheesesteaks I’ve had and this includes in Philadelphia. They are big enough that one sandwich is 2 meals for me. I pushed through eating half of mine and was baffled I had another half left. Food comes quickly too.

Great sandwich. Huge, the most tender beef I ever had in a Cheesesteak. Definitely will be back.

This was our first time trying out Meatheadz. As a long time Philly resident and cheesesteak aficionado, I can attest this spot does it the right way! You can’t have a good steak without a good roll, so do yourself a favor and get it with the seeded Sarcone’s roll! They really stuff the steak the way it’s supposed to be done. A half steak alone is a full meal. They didn’t have fries when we visited, so we tried the fried pickles, which were delicious. The wings were also very well prepared. Next time I’m in the area, I’ll be stopping here. Only next time, I’ll eat-in to enjoy the steak fresh rather than getting it takeout to go. I recommend you do the same! It’s a nice setting inside with plenty of seating, good music, and a nice staff.

I’ve been going to Meatheadz since day one. This is by far the best cheesesteak place in the tri-state area. I came here today to try their new menu item(s) chicken cutlet sandwiches. Today I had the best damn chicken cutlet sandwich I’ve ever had… The Stinger! Bacon, sharp provolone, long hots and hot honey. And of course it’s fully loaded on a Sarcone hero roll. Anything I can write to describe it won’t do it justice. You have to try this.

The cheesesteak was excellent. The meat was very good quality and the cheese integration was perfect. The fries were OK, three out of five. The wait was really long, but the staff was nice and comped a beverage. The interior is a little lackluster and the bathroom is rough.

All I can say is WOW! This was hands down the best cheesesteak I’ve ever had. The meat was top quality, the Cooper Sharp cheese was perfectly melted, and that seeded roll tied everything together. The ratio of onions was spot on — every bite was perfectly balanced. You can tell real care went into crafting this sandwich. This is what a true cheesesteak should taste like. 10/10 — I’ll definitely be back! Let’s not forget to give a Big shoutout to the awesome folks up front! They were super nice and made the place feel really welcoming.

We’re from out of town & couldn’t wait to try this place! Excellent! I got the “Jr” kids meal & could only eat half! My husband got the full size and all he could say was “5 stars” Plenty of meat & cheese, fries didn’t taste seasoned but let’s be honest, we really just wanted the cheesesteak. Service was top notch! The young lady at the front was so welcoming and helpful. Definitely check this place out!

Heard this place is good and was in the area, so decided to stop in and boy am I glad that I did! Cheesesteak was amazing, really quality stuff! You pick you cheese type and roll. Went with OG for the first time, but with definitely be back for the spicy variation. The very nice lady at the counter brought me out some spicy sauce from the spicy variation to try and it was delicious! Also, I love chili cheese dogs so I just had to get one. Came with a gooey cheese sauce and very flavorful chili, I added some fresh chopped onions on top and some spicy peppers from their awesome self serve pepper bar. Chef/Owner even came out to ask me about the chili and I told him that I was impressed with its flavor. Bravo Meatheadz, wish ya'll were closer to home. You should think about putting up a few of these around NJ in more popular areas.
